Do I need a COVID-19 vaccine booster?

Monica McLemore, PhD, MPH, RN explains how COVID-19 vaccine boosters help to keep protection levels up in your immune system.

Yes, you should receive a booster.

Immunity wanes over time, right? Our immune systems are being presented with agents every day, right?

And so, we have to boost our immune systems that immunity happens over time. And so, by boosting our immune systems, it allows us to have this continued level of protection that we had when we were initially inoculated.

That’s true of any vaccine. Um, so it’s not specific to COVID-19.
